Harvey Pettibone

“The ku Klux are here, Vi, there’s not a thing to stop them.  We might as well join them, why not?  They’re not low-down,
like some folks say.  They’re good men, 100 percent American men, and they might bring us some business.”

Harvey Pettibone was a shop owner who did not mine when the Klan moved to town.  He even joined the Klan.  Harvey was a follower and was very selfish and prejudice.  He thought the Klan would bring customers to he’s store and he did not care about the people they hurt.
